Sebastian Ko, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive techniques of the shoulder, knee, and hip, including shoulder replacements and hip arthroscopy.
Dr. Ko is a former NCAA Division 1 athlete with a strong interest in the treatment of athletic injuries. His experience includes treating elite athletes while serving as the assistant team physician for the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, and Rockford IceHogs professional sports teams, and the Northwestern Division 1 collegiate football team.
Dr. Ko’s practice philosophy emphasizes patient-centered care. He is dedicated to the successful diagnosis of each patient’s orthopedic concern and develops individualized treatment plans that include both non-surgical and surgical options.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Ko completed medical school and his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of British Columbia. After residency, he completed a clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University. He is dual board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
