Biography

Rachel Prokopf, NP, is a certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctorate of Nursing practice from RUSH University, Chicago, IL, a top ranked graduate nursing program in the nation, where she graduated summa cum laude.

In addition to holding a doctorate degree, Dr. Prokopf also earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Concordia University, River Forest, IL. She taught high school mathematics and science in Fort Wayne, IN, and spent four years in Japan teaching English as a second language. After returning from Japan, she chose to broaden her career path, and earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL.  From there, she moved to Hawaii, and started her nursing career at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu.

Dr. Prokopf’s background has helped shape her practice to focus on education, prevention, and quality of life. She loves to travel and learn about different cultural approaches to practicing medicine. She believes in the close relationship between mental and physical health and strives to create a safe environment for patients to express concerns, and to collaborate to help meet individual patient health care goals.
